Estate Manager - Hundred Acre Wine Group

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Estate Manager is responsible for the leadership, development and management of directing winery construction, landscape management and supporting a private client hospitality team coordination for four of the estate properties. In addition, create and manage strategic plans and related budgets to maintain and achieve future profitability.

As well as implementing effective and innovative new membership generation strategies, upholding the integrity and building of The Hundred Acre Wine Group brand image.

LOCATION

The position is located in St. Helena, California.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Estate Manager reports into the COO.

This role supports the hospitality team, while a team of 4-6 landscapers and estate maintenance staff reports into this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Maintain required records, reports and files in an organized manner.
  • Coordinate vendors for cleaning, repair, and maintenance of estate properties including buildings, equipment, and landscaping. 
  • Get bids from vendors for future projects, create scopes of work, manage budgets, and make certain projects are completed in a timely fashion. 
  • Work with Operations in overseeing St Helena Warehouses, overall maintenance, upkeep, resupply, and staff management. 
  • Coordinate with Client Relations Manager to manage personal household- includes housekeeping, supplies, commissary, and culinary supplies.  
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the organization.
  • Help establish and implement according to the winery owner’s overall strategy of the company to encompass all functional business areas.
  • Develop and recommend for approvals specific short and long-range budgets and strategies to achieve company goals. This requires a focus on the physical facilities. 
  • Organize, lead and delegate detailed responsibility to the winery to accomplish approved operating plans within budgets. 
  • Determine capital needs and recommend fiscal strategy to accomplish operational goals and improve facilities in support of these goals. 
  • Execute approved changes. Enhance the winery properties assets to deliver on the brand priorities. 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • 5+ year’s work experience in winery maintenance management with multiple luxury properties under 10K cases a plus. 

With an emphasis in construction project management, landscape management, to overall estate maintenance while developing a sense of place.

  • Communicate with winery team to resolve discrepancies and accomplish goals. Attain short-term results while planning for long-term winery growth. 


Recommended Skills 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience. 
  • Specific understanding of a construction project management, landscape management, to overall estate maintenance and its operation. 
  • Comprehensive analytical, strategic and tactical skills (i.e. must be able to both create and 
execute your ideas). 
  • Proven P&L responsibilities with a deep understanding of winery finance and operational.
  • Entrepreneurial style with experience in a structured environment. 
  • Adaptability and openness to change. 
  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills including ability to coordinate with multiple departments and diverse personalities. 
  • Excellent analytical and creative skills. Keen attention to detail with effective time and project management skill. 
  • Passionate about wine and profession.
