Benchmark Consulting is locating and screening candidates for this producer of fine wines. The Company produces 800 cases of high quality, estate-grown wine. THE POSITION
The person selected for this position will be responsible for all aspects of wholesale sales with an emphasis on On-Premise/Broad market for the company.
This is a one-person department in a small, prestigious company and the ideal candidate will be ready to take responsibility for the all Sales and Marketing of the Estate, with minimal supervision and administrative support.

The Client winery is located Los Angeles, California.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The position reports to Winemaker/General Manager.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the development of sales plans and unique marketing solutions necessary to achieve winery brand objectives and profitable growth; formulate sales goals and strategies.
- Assist in market share/image enhancement while working collaboratively with the onsite team.
- Develop and deploy targeted on-premise sales programs that result in positive brand imaging and increased visibility.
- Further the company’s brand building via balanced distribution profile in broad market on and off premise channels.
- Be the key player in ensuring that sales strategies are implemented at the wholesale and retail levels. Be the brand champion to major accounts by making presentations directly.
- Make recommendations on production and depletion volumes, pricing, varietal spectrum and in-field strategies.
- Determine brand merchandising standards, channel priorities and target ratio of on-premise to off-premise sales.
- Conduct introductory meetings and brand presentations with distributors/brokers.
- Serve as the key contact for all accounts. Assist in the creation and coordination of activities that enhance a collaborative company environment, recognizing contributions and celebrating success.
- Responsible for meeting the goal revenue plan.
- Actively participate in community events and activities representing the company ensuring a positive image for the Company.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The following are some of the skills, talents and experience the client would like the candidate to bring to the position. Specific requirements include:
- Significant sales management experience (a minimum of 3 years) with increasing levels of responsibility for strategy and program development.
- Experience in developing strategies for luxury wine marketing, wine club, sales programs and outreach plans to the wine community.
- Understanding of sales plans, forecasts and strategies necessary to achieve brand objectives, profitable growth.
- Understanding of financial budgeting and financial management.
- Understanding of pricing and programming plans.
- Being proficient in all things technical (ZOOM, Microsoft Teams, Social Media, etc..)
- Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, organizing and managing multiple priorities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer knowledge and skills (word processing, spreadsheet, graph, database). With an emphasis in Excel and potentially other sales databases.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Valid driver’s license; physical ability to travel by car and plane, visit multiple locations both inside the winery and in the vineyards, ability to climb stairs; ability to sit and operate a computer.
